Holiday Hours, Shipping Cutoffs, and the Pages Shoppers Actually Check

Every December, thousands of would-be customers land on business websites with two simple questions: are you open, and will it arrive in time? The businesses that answer clearly get the sale. The ones that make shoppers dig get abandoned for a competitor who didn't.

Before the season kicks off, spend an afternoon on the handful of pages holiday shoppers actually visit. It's some of the highest-return work you'll do all quarter.

Your hours need to live in more than one place

Holiday hours belong on your homepage, your contact page, your footer, and your Google Business Profile, and they all need to match. A shopper who sees "open until 8" on Google and finds a locked door at 6 doesn't come back. Set your special hours in Google Business Profile now for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's, because Google lets you schedule them in advance. Then add a short banner to your site the week of each holiday.

Shipping cutoffs deserve their own page

"Order by December 18 for delivery by Christmas" is one of the most persuasive sentences in ecommerce. Publish a simple shipping deadlines page listing each carrier and service level with its last safe order date, then link it from your header, your product pages, and your cart. Shoppers who know the deadline order sooner and choose faster shipping. Shoppers who don't know it hesitate, and hesitation in December means buying elsewhere.

Update the quiet pages that carry the season

Your FAQ, return policy, and gift card pages see enormous December traffic and rarely get a second look from owners. Extend your return window for holiday purchases and say so plainly, since generous December return policies measurably lift conversion. Make sure your gift card page works on mobile and shows delivery timing. And check your contact page: if response times slow during the rush, set that expectation honestly instead of letting emails feel ignored.

These updates take a day, but somebody has to remember them every single year, along with the banners, the profile updates, and the takedowns in January. That's the kind of recurring work our clients hand to Awesome Website Guys. With a care plan, unlimited content updates are included, so your seasonal pages are always current without you touching a thing.
