Take Me Time Each Day 

It’s easy to manage your business all day and come home to care for your family and other responsibilities and spend no time doing anything for yourself. That, however, can eventually weigh on your mental health. 

While each person is different in terms of how much me time they need, as a general rule, take 15 to 20 minutes to yourself each day at least. This could mean taking a long, hot bath or curling up with a good book. Me time could be participating in your favorite hobby or exercising. What’s important is you do something for yourself that lets your mind escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. 

 

Start Working Out Each Day  

Whether you head to the gym to run on the treadmill or go for a walk routinely, aim to get at least 150 minutes of exercise per week, spread out between at least five days. This is enough that you achieve your recommended amount of exercise and receive all the benefits. It isn’t enough that you’re worn out and sore every day.

When you exercise, your brain releases “feel-good” hormones known as neurotransmitters. They can boost your mood and help ease your stress. 

Choose an exercise you enjoy, such as jazzercise or basketball. 

 

Make to Do Lists 

Create both long and short-term to-do lists. When you have a business and other responsibilities, there can be a lot to keep track of, much more than you can remember. Therefore, either jot down a list of things to do today and tasks that need to be done in the near future or input them into your phone. 

You can then remove items off the list as you complete them so you can get an idea of just how much you accomplished and know what’s still needed of you. 

 

Hire Help 

This is a difficult concept for some people. Sometimes, an individual wants nothing more than to control every aspect of his or her business and complete every task alone. This isn’t practical when you have so much going on, though.

Your brain needs it to function, and getting enough sleep can ward off anxiety.
